Lantern Lane
Let’s find a place a world away from here,
Where, nestled in seclusion, quiet dwells,
Where fireflies and hummingbirds appear
In evening breezes laced with distant bells.
Let’s plant a garden there below the sky,
With zephyrs, corn and onions ripe and sweet.
Let’s plant an apple tree, and, by and by,
Let’s pick our fill and settle back to eat.
And then let’s build ourselves a sturdy home,
A resting place for family and friend,
A welcome when we can no longer roam,
A haven, blessed with peace, at journey’s end.
Then, when we’ve made our corner, calm and fair,
Let’s open wide the doors, and smile, and share.
Let’s find a place a world away from here,
